Betty Brown

Private family graveside services for Betty C. Brown, 89 of Cookeville will be Monday, July 21 at Cookeville City Cemetery with Bro. Buddy Johnson officiating. Mrs. Brown died Wednesday evening, July 16, 2014 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born June 23, 1925 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to the late Otis and Odessa Gunn Cosgrove. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband Robert Arnold Brown on Oct. 10, 2008, sons James Douglas Brown and Robert Edmund Brown, three brothers and one sister. She was a former resident of Wallingford, CT and was very involved with Wallingford Church of Christ. She came to Cookeville later to be near family and joined Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ. She loved and was very devoted to the church and church work. She has been a resident of Heritage Pointe for the past four years. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law Leigh and Merl Smith of Livingston, Linda Kay and Tom Solinsky of Greenville, S.C., son and daughter-in-law Robert Neil Brown and Joanne McGuire of Orlando, FL., sister Jimmie Lou Reagan of Oklahoma City, nine grandchildren: Ryan (Traci) Smith, Paige (Mark) Strong, Jennifer (John) Mulcahy, James Gerke, John Thomas Solinsky, Joyal Solinsky, Marissa Brown, Meredith Brown, Christopher Brown, 5 great-grandchildren: Hannah Smith, Kiley Smith, Cade Smith, Julia Brown and Delaney Mulcahy, brothers and sisters-in-law Neil (Patty)Brown, Howard (Bev) Brown.
