Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Ann ‘Beth' Prowse, age 84 of Cookeville, will be held Thursday, September 15th at 4 p.m. in the Cookeville First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. Rev. Bill Stone and Pastor Scott McKinney will officiate. Mrs. Prowse's family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home and again Thursday from 2 p.m. until service time at the church. She died Monday, September 12, 2016 at NHC Healthcare Cookeville. She was born March 6, 1932, in Mineral Wells, TX to the late Jack and Lenna Ranspot Rhodes, the sixth of nine siblings. Soon after, her family moved to Harrison, AR. She and her late husband Rev. Michael Prowse were partners in ministry for over 50 years. She was a faithful supporter as Rev. Prowse served as pastor at Palm City (FL) First Baptist Church and Oak Grove Baptist Church in Springfield, TN, and later as he served as Director of Education for Columbia (TN) First Baptist Church. Together, they supported local churches as Rev. Prowse served as Director of Missions in several Baptist Associations throughout Tennessee. Locally, Mrs. Prowse worked as a secretary at the Stone Association of Southern Baptists as Rev. Prowse served as Director of Missions for 22 years. She has been a member of Cookeville First Baptist Church since 1977 and especially enjoyed singing in the church choir. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Rev. Michael Prowse. She is survived by three sons, Tim (Rita) Prowse of Springfield, TN, David (Jennifer) Prowse and Dan Prowse, all of Cookeville; grandchildren, Matt, Holly, and Peyton Prowse, Scott (Angie) Prowse, Andy (Heather) Prowse, Hope Prowse, Boone and Kobe Bryant and Jordan and Jessica Killmon; great grandchildren, Gracie and Kate Prowse and Grayson and Wyatt Prowse. Family will serve as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made through the First Baptist Church of Cookeville for Missions, offerings and Youth Camp Scholarships: 18 S.
