Bessie "Lora" Herron

Funeral Services for Bessie “Lora” Herron, age 84, of Cookeville, will be Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Elrod Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Herron passed away Saturday, February 2, 2013 at NHC of Cookeville. She was born May 4, 1928 in Putnam County TN to the late Herman Lack and Arie Elrod Lack and was the oldest of five girls. She was a member of the Holladay Church of Christ and loved her church. Lora is survived by three children; Phillip Herron of Lawrenceville GA, Barbara (Michael) Nichols of North Hollywood CA, and Pamela (Jim) Chatterley of Washington MI as well as her four sisters; Leron Hutcherson of Nashville, Helen (Johnny) Wyatt of Cookeville, Jessie (Mac) Horn of Woodbury TN, and Chris (Norm) Hillman of Milan IN. In addition, Mrs. Herron was grandmother to six grandchildren; Kelly Cory, Lisa Herron, Roxann Nichols, Ryan Chatterley, Carissa Chatterley and Elizabeth Herron and three great-grandchildren; T’Jork Herron, Cannon Cory and Colton Cory. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Herron was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Herron. Bro. Johnny Fox will be conducting the services and pallbearers will be family and friends.
