Funeral Services for Mrs. Bernie Joyce Whiteaker, age 77, of Cookeville will be Friday, March 29, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 28, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Crest Lawn Cemetery. Bernie was born August 3, 1935 in Cookeville TN to the late Joe Maggart and Susie Holleman Maggart. Ms. Whiteaker is survived by one daughter; Jenny (Billy) Phillips of Cookeville, a son; James Dale (Katy) Whiteaker of Lebanon TN, three sisters; Billie (Bobby) Birdwell of Steel Water OK, Joanna Bowman of Goodlettsville TN, Bobby (A.B.) Carrington of Cookeville, one brother; Joe Connor (Kathy) Maggart of Lebanon TN, four grandchildren; Jason, Berek Whiteaker, Heather and Jared Phillips, three great grandchildren; Gavin, Dylan and Corgan. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Whiteaker was preceded in death by one son; Jerry Whiteaker, three brothers; Connie, Donnie and Lonnie Maggart and two great grandchildren; Mercy and Grace Whiteaker. Family will serve as pallbearers. Bro. John Mayher be officiating the services. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Happy Haven Home for children.
