Bedford "Tom" Madewell

Funeral services for Bedford “Tom” Madewell, age 73, of Cookeville, will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 29, 2010 from the chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, at the funeral home. Mr. Madewell died Monday, April 26, 2010, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Tom was born March 28, 1937, in Putnam County to the late William “Bill” Madewell and Anna Phy Madewell. He was a retired cafeteria supervisor from Tennessee Tech University and a member of the Colonial Heights Church of Christ His family includes his wife, Rachel Bumbalough Madewell; one son, Tommy Madewell of Cookeville; one daughter, Amy Copeland and husband David of Cookeville; one sister, Nancy Huddleston and husband Willie also of Cookeville. Tom also has four grandchildren; Tyler, Jeremiah, Heather, and Lydia Copeland and several neices and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr Madewell was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Ann Madewell; one sister, Willie Mae White; and one brother, Edward Madewell. The family requests memorial contributions be made to medical expenses. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Bro. Rodney Pitts and Dennis Oliver will officiate at the services.
