Barbara Ray

Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara F. Ray, age 82 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, May 14th at 12:00 p.m. at the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Campground Cemetery in Overton County. Pastor Seth Price will officiate. Her family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Ray died Thursday May 12, 2022 at Signature Healthcare of Putnam County. She was born August 15, 1939 in Overton County, TN to the late Willis T. and Lucille Setser Langford. Barbara was a gentle, good hearted, loving and Godly lady. She was devoted to her family and a wonderful homemaker. She enjoyed quilting and working on her flowers. She attended Cookeville Free Will Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, James Blaine Ray, Jr.; and by an infant brother, David Langford. She is survived by daughters, Deborah E Tays and husband Donnie, of Cookeville and Karen Ray, of North Carolina; son, Mike Ray and wife Debbie, of Cookeville; grandchildren, Jonnie (Mary Lou) Tays, Angie Tays (Jeff) Haney, Rebecca Ray, Sarah Ray, Lydia Shaw (Nester) Molina and Caleb Shaw; five great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and by sisters, Mary Ledford, of Cookeville and Caroline Needham and husband Bill, of Livingston. She is also survived by a special friend, Ernest Copeland. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (931)526-6111.
