Barbara Loftis

Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Jean Loftis, age 81 of Cookeville, will be held Tuesday, January 24th at 11am at the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Bros. Clarence Deloach and Johnny Fox will officiate. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends Monday evening from 5pm to 8pm and again Tuesday from 10am until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Loftis died Sunday January 22, 2023 at Mabry Health Care and Rehabilitation.

She was born May 21, 1941 in Akron, OH to the late Charles Roy Detwiler and Reba Lucille Jones Detwiler.

Mrs. Loftis was a wonderful homemaker and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid reader, enjoyed collecting figurines and enjoyed listening to her husband Ray play music.

She was a member of the Church of Christ and was baptized at Willow Avenue Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by stepsons, Danny Loftis and Tommy Loftis.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Carlon "Ray" Loftis; daughters, Regina (Jeff) Fish of Norman, Oklahoma and Wendy Rock of Massillon, Ohio; grandson, Jonathan Titko; stepchildren, Bobby Ray (Chesta) Loftis and Lisa (Randy) Loftis; and by many step grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Gary Loftis, Jeff Fish, Bobby Loftis, David Loftis, Randy Loftis and Dennis McAvenue will serve as pallbearers.
