BAXTER-Funeral services for Barbara Ann Fisher, 81 of Silver Point, will be Wednesday, August 10 at 1 PM at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Smellage Memory Gardens in the Boma Community. Tommy Roberts will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM and Wednesday after 10 AM until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Fisher died Friday night, August 5, 2022 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. She was born May 3, 1941 in the Roberts Switch Community of Putnam County to the late Clavis and Etta Frances Phillips Roberts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Neal Fisher on December 26, 2020, sisters and brother-in-law Geraldine "Gerry" and Ezra Herren and Brenda Logsdon, brother and sister-in-law Avery and Terry Roberts, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Bill and Joyce Fisher, Frankie Dee and Josephine Fisher, nephew Ricky Herren. She was a member of the last graduating class of Baxter Seminary in 1959. She received her Central Supply Technician certificate from Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 1960. She worked at Vanderbilt before returning to the Upper Cumberland area in 1965. She married Neal Fisher on July 25, 1964 and they were married for 56 years. She was employed at the former Cookeville General Hospital until 1978. In 1982, she started Shady Lawn Residential Home, a supportive living facility licensed through the Department of Health and Department of Mental Health providing round-the-clock care to eighteen patients previously residing in behavioral health facilities across the state. She retired in 2008 and was a member of the Church of Christ faith. Survivors include daughter Lori Ann Fisher of Nashville, son Kenny Neal Fisher of Silver Point, grandchildren: Dylan (Rachel) Fisher of Baxter, Bailey Slack of Cookeville, great-grandchildren: Archie and Limmie Slack of Cookeville, brother and sister-in-law Tommy and Gracie Roberts of Silver Point, brother-in-law Jim Logsdon of Owensboro, Ky., a host of nieces and nephews. Active Pallbearers will be Dylan Fisher, Billy Herren, Jeff and Jim Logsdon, Tommy A. Roberts, II, Steve and Jimmy Watts.
