BAXTER-Funeral services for Barbara Ann Allison Lowe, 62 of Athens, Alabama, formerly of Baxter, will be Sunday, June 11 at 2 PM from the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Smellage Memory Gardens in the Boma Community of Putnam County. Mrs. Lowe died Thursday evening, June 8, 2017 at her home in Athens. She was born June 16, 1954 in Putnam County to the late Carson M. and Jewel Dean Gibbons Allison. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son Chris Lowe, former husband and father of her children, Danny Lowe, adoptive father Mack Shanks. She was a 1972 graduate of Upperman High School in Baxter. She had served as Head Teller at Huntsville and Athens, Alabama Banks. Survivors include partner, Bruce Terry of Athens, son and daughter-in-law Craig and Jessica Lowe of Tallahassee, FL, adoptive mother Euda Kate Shanks of Silver Point, sisters and brothers-in-law Myra and Larry Case, Tena and Danny Simmons all of Silver Point, brothers and sister-in-law Mackie and Lorie Shanks of Pegram, TN, Steve Whitehead of Baxter, grandchildren: Collin Lowe, Kiersten and Brenna, aunt Rebecca Burgess of Battle Creek, Mi., special cousin and husband, Betsye and Ron Walker of Silver Point. Family will receive friends Saturday, June 10 from 5 to 8 PM and Sunday after 10 AM at the funeral home. Bro. Fred Hawkins will officiate. Active pallbearers will be Mitchel and Mason Simmons, Mackie and Tyler Shanks, Joseph and Jordan Case.
