Arsdell "Buck" Bussell

Funeral services for Mr. Arsdell “Buck” Bussell, age 85, of Cookeville, who passed away Friday April 10, 2015 at NHC of Sparta will be Monday morning, April 13, 2015 at Crest Lawn Mausoleum at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends Sunday evening, April 12, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Mr. Bussell was born December 1, 1929 in Putnam County TN to the late Oliver Bussell and Tina Howell Bussell. He was a veteran of the United States Army and proudly served in the Korean Conflict. He loved farming, working with his cattle, and bird hunting, but most of all he was a devoted husband and father who loved his family. He and his wife were faithful members of the Colonial View Baptist Church. “Buck” is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Liz” Bussell, two daughters; Brenda Bussell and Donna Gaw (husband Wayne) both of Cookeville, three grandchildren; Brandi Turnage Vaughn (husband Steven), Jennifer Boswell (husband John) and Cristy Betcher (husband Matt) all of Cookeville as well as five great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bussell was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his daughters, Wanda Waites Bussell, two brothers; Arlis Bussell and Burl Bussell, and one grandson; Ricky Turnage. Bro. Jim McCaleb will be conducting the entombment service. The family has requested Memorial Contributions be made to Alzheimer Research in lieu of flowers.
