Arnold Frelan Lafever

Funeral services for Arnold Frelan LaFever, 84, of Cookeville, will be held Sunday, Dec. 27, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will be in the LaFever Cemetery. Family will receive friends Sunday from noon until time of services at the funeral home. Mr. LaFever died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, at Masters Health Care Center. He was born Sept. 12, 1925, in Putnam County to the late John and Altha Wright LaFever. Mr. LaFever was a cutter, grinder and toolmaker for General Motors. He was of the Pentecostal faith and a member of Trinity Assembly of God. Mr. LaFever's family wishes to thank the G-wing staff of Masters Health Care for their compassionate care. His family includes his wife, Linda; a daughter and son-in-law, Suzy and Mark Hicks of Gainesboro; six sons and five daughters-in-law, Michael Frelan and Cathy Lafever of Stafford, Va., Dennis and Debby LaFever of Canton, Mich., Gary and Margaret LaFever of Hilton Head, S.C., David and Helen LaFever of St. Petersburg, Fla., Galen LaFever of Williston, Fla., and Brent Eric and Margo LaFever of Winston Salem, N.C.; a brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Joyce LaFever of Algood; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Christine Loftis, Ruby Jones and Francis and D.C. Holman, all of Cookeville; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, friends and other family. In addition to his parents, Mr. LaFever was preceded in death by four brothers, Lawrence, Earl, Louie and Johnny Marshall LaFever; and a sister, Dimple Steward. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Memorial donations may be made to the LaFever Cemetery or Gideon's International. Bro. Donald Widner will officiate the services.
