Funeral services for Arlin Medley, 94 of Baxter will Saturday, April 13 at 2 P.M. from the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Mr. Medley died Thursday morning April 11, 2013 at Bethesda Health Care Center in Cookeville. He was born September 7, 1918 in Putnam County to the late Sidney Monroe and Mollie Rice Medley. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. He retired from Chrysler Corporation in Detroit in the Upholstery Department and he owned and operated B & M Landscaping in Taylor, Michigan for 30 years before moving back to Baxter. He loved to work in his yard and garden. He was a member of Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by wife Jean Randolph Medley on October 5, 2001, daughter Carol Pitts, sisters Lena Boren, Ella Billings, Leona Allison,Viola Griffin and Agnes Phillips and a brother Virda "SHORTY"� Medley. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Susan and Bill Thornton of Franklin, TN;Brother and sister-in-law Ralph and Betty Medley of Baxter; 3 grandchildren: Brad Thornton of Los Angeles, CA, Scott (Celina) Thornton of Murfreesboro , Jennifer (Trey) Thorne of Springhill, TN,; 4 great-grandchildren: Averi and Ty Thorne, Isabell and Tristan Thornton. Bro. Larry Acuff and Bro. Buddy Johnson will officiate. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Mr. Medley"�s family will receive friends Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
