Arlee Freeman

A Memorial Service for Mrs. Arlee Ardeth Lenore Freeman, age 75 of Algood, will be held Friday, February 1, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Michael's Episcopal Church. Father Michael Spear-Jones will officiate. A reception will follow the service at the church. Arlee passed away Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born September 22, 1943 in Tisdale, Saskatchewan, Canada to the late Jack and Lenore Lamb Crane. She moved to Houston, TX in 1964 and married her husband, Bob, in 1965. They resided in Huntsville, Alabama, before moving to Cookeville in 1973. After relocating to Cookeville, Arlee became a Naturalized Citizen in September 1975. She attended Tennessee Tech University obtaining three degrees in Education and was a 2nd grade teacher at Algood Elementary for 31 years. Arlee was a longtime member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church. She enjoyed performing with the Master Singers, gardening, travel and Square Dancing. As an Instrument Rated pilot, she also enjoyed flying. In addition to her parents, Arlee was preceded in death by her sister, Norma Butt. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bob Freeman; sons, Rourk Freeman and wife Marcy of Greenville, SC and Michael Freeman of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Eric and Max Freeman and Ryan, Lillian and Reed Freeman; brother, Don Crane and wife Vi of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; and brother-in-law, Eric Butt of Vancouver, British Columbia.
