Arland Rice

A Gathering of Family and Friends Celebrating the Life of Mr. Arland Rice, age 71 of Federal Way, Washington and formerly of Cookeville will be held Monday February 20 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Military Honors by the Veterans Honor Guard will follow. Interment will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery. Arland died Saturday February 11, 2017 in Saint Joseph Hospital in Tacoma. WA. He was born Thursday July 26, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan to Bricie Stamps Rice of Cookeville and the late Bethel Rice. Arland was a retired Master Sergeant with the U. S. Air Force. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, O. D. and Ethel Cunningham Rice; maternal grandparents, Henry and Rebeca Stamps; and step-maternal grandmother, Violet Stamps. Along with his mother, is also survived by his daughter, Helga Ostreng of Osla, Norway, and several extended family members. Dyer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements (931) 526-6111.
