Arkley Moore

Graveside services and interment for the family of Mr. Jessie "Arkley" Moore, age 71 of Cookeville, will be held Friday, April 17th at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Rev. Steve Moore and Rev. Dow Allen will officiate. Mr. Moore passed away Wednesday April 15, 2020 at his residence. He was born May 29, 1948 in Cookeville to the late John Edley and Cora Harris Moore. Arkley attended Jackson County High School and transferred to Putnam County Senior High, from where he graduated in 1967. He has been employed as an order processor at Smithport Cabinetry in Smithville, TN for more than 20 years. He was a longtime, active member of Cookeville Freewill Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and participated in the choir. For the past three years, he has attended Stevens Street Baptist Church. He is survived by his adoring family, his wife of 50 years, Lillian West Moore (whom he married March 27, 1970 at the Mount Pleasant Church in Cookeville); son, Aaron (Melissa) Moore of Murfreesboro; brother, Ralph (Ann) Moore; sisters, Barbara (Dow) Allen and Katherine (Anthony) Hammock, all of Cookeville; nieces and nephews, Jody Moore (April Garrison), Andy (Jennifer) Hammock, Nancy (David) Bohannon and Leah (Andy) Milton ; and by great nieces and nephews, Abby Bohannon, Ty Bohannon, Elizabeth Milton, Seth Milton, Maddux Hammock, Marlee Hammock and Mack Hammock. He is also survived by sister-in-law, Letha (Larry) Hurst and her daughters, Amy (David) Gurley and their children Emma and Drew and Jennifer (David) Harris and their children, Ethan, Elaina, Natalie and Caroline and by brother-in-law, Jeff (Kim) West and his daughter, Jewel West. Andy Hammock, Andy Milton, David Bohannon, Jody Moore, Mark Lemmon and David Young will serve as pallbearers. Dan Evans will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
