Ardean Nelson

Funeral services for Mr. Ardean Nelson, 92, of Cookeville will be held Saturday, June 2, at 10 a.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home with interment to follow in Zion Hill Cemetery in Overton County. Bro. Mike Adams and Pastor Ron Smith will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Nelson died Thursday morning, May 31, 2012 at NHC of Cookeville. He was born June 20, 1919 in Overton County, TN to the late Thomas and Nancy Gaw Nelson. Mr. Nelson was a member of Praise Cathedral Church of God and a retired associate of Thompson Manufacturing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Brownie Nelson, Jack Nelson, Hoarce Nelson and Carlos Nelson and one sister, Mary Jane Ray. Mr. Nelson is survived by his wife, Alpha "Irene"� Taylor Nelson, three sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Faye Nelson, Robert and Connie Nelson and Freddie and Kathy Nelson; two daughters and a son-in-law, Donna and Jeff Moss and Kathy Goolsby; brother and sister-in-law, Benton and Treva Nelson, two sisters and a brother-in-law, Louise and George Conley and Vina Gregg all of Cookeville; six grandchildren, Jamie (Chad) Sims, Tonya (John) Downer, Rena (Tracey) Welch, Steven Nelson, Samantha (Jessie) McCarthney, Jessica (Ryan) McCarthney and ten great grandchildren. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
