Anna Pearl Judd

August 14, 1937 — August 26, 2024

Anna Pearl Judd, affectionately known as Pearl, passed away suddenly on August 26, 2024, at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Born on August 14, 1937, in Putnam County, TN, Pearl's life was a radiant example of love, kindness, and devotion.

Pearl's journey began as the cherished daughter of Herbert Tinch and Juanita Hinson Tinch. She grew up surrounded by a large and loving family, which would later serve as the cornerstone of her own life as a mother and grandmother and great grandmother. Pearl was the heart of her family, a role she embraced with grace and joy.

Throughout her life, Pearl was a pillar of strength and independence. She was a successful businesswoman, having owned and operated several convenience markets in the Cookeville and Baxter area, including Roy's Market, L & J Market, and Crossroads Market. Her entrepreneurial spirit was matched only by her generosity and willingness to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Pearl's interests were a reflection of her nurturing spirit. She was an amazing mother and the kindest soul one could ever meet. Her hands were rarely still, as she found peace and fulfillment in gardening, sewing beautiful creations, and cooking delicious meals for her family. Pearl's home was always open to family and friends alike with a hot meal (corn bread & buttermilk for Brittany) and words of wisdom. Her faith was a guiding light in her life. A devoted Christian, Pearl was an active member of the Cookeville Church of God of Prophecy. Her faith was evident in her daily life and the unwavering support and guidance she provided to her family and friends.

Pearl's legacy of love continues through her daughters, Sheila Yates (Dennis), Linda Judd (Alan Eaves), Brenda Hamby, Cindy Johnson (Bill), and Penny Harrell (Jim Maxwell); her sisters, Ruth Boles and Lillie Lafever; her ten grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Each of them carries a piece of Pearl's spirit and will continue to pass on the values she held dear.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert Tinch and Juanita Hinson Tinch; the father of her children, Freddie Judd; her brothers, LB, Sherlie, Alvin, Lonnie, Truman, Carl, and Bennie Tinch and a grandson, Brent Hamby. They have now welcomed her into eternal rest with open arms.

Those who knew Pearl would describe her as the embodiment of love and kindness. Her presence was a gift to all who had the privilege of knowing her, and her memory will be cherished forever.
