Ann Emerton

BAXTER-Funeral services for Gloria Ann Emerton, 85 of Baxter, will be Wednesday, March 22 at 11 AM at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Bro. Horace Burks and Bro. John Pippin will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 to 7 PM and after 9 AM Wednesday until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Emerton died Saturday evening, March 18, 2023 at her home.

She was born June 5, 1937 in Buffalo Valley, TN to the late William Beecher Jones, Sr. and Kizzie Odell Carr Jones.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Email Taylor Emerton on October 22, 2001, and a daughter, Diane Emerton, brothers, Allen Jones and William "Bill" Beecher Jones, Jr.

She was a member of Baxter Church of Christ.

Ann was a retired sales clerk with KMart and WT Grant, and was also former owner/operator of Towne and Country Shop in Baxter.

Survivors include daughter, Theresa (Milton) Thomas of Baxter, son, Tim Emerton of Manchester; grandsons, Slade Thomas of Charleston, South Carolina, Jordan Thomas of Baxter; niece, Betty Ann Smith; nephews, Bruce Lee and Mike Emerton; special cousins: Doris and Sandy Summers, Joy Markham; special friends, Sandra Allen, Ruth Arney and Pearl Pennington, traveling companion, Doris Nash.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Ayers, Danny Armistead, Eddie Haggard, Charles Dalton, Russell Dyer and John Pippin.
