COOKEVILLE CHAPEL-Angela Rena Gambrell, a beloved member of the Cookeville community, passed away on December 5, 2024, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center, leaving behind a legacy of selflessness and kindness that touched the lives of many. Born on October 6, 1961, in Cookeville, Tennessee, Angie was a bright soul who never met a stranger and made friends effortlessly.
Angie's career at Cookeville Regional Medical Center spanned over two decades, most notably as the Printing and Graphics Manager, where she showcased her talent and dedication for 24 years. She was known as a completely selfless person, always prioritizing the needs of others above her own. Those who had the privilege to know her will cherish the memories of her warmth and affection.
She was a graduate of Cookeville High School, class of 1979, and led a life enriched with interests and passions. Angie enjoyed fishing and was an avid fan of rock and roll music, as well as a devoted supporter of Tennessee Titans football. But her greatest pride came from her family, which included her loving husband, Tony Gambrell; their son, Bradley Boles; and daughter, Jacqueline Parker. She also had stepchild, Rachel (Jacob) Bouton, a step-brother Kevin Smith, and was a doting grandmother to Sierra Melton, Emily Watson, Ashley Watson, Grace McCaleb, Cyianna Bouton, and Ava Bouton. Angie cherished her sister, Wanda Clinton, and her brother, Bo (Glenda) Brown, along with several nieces and nephews who were all blessed to have her in their lives.
Angie's spirit will live on in her close and numerous friends, who adored her just as much as she adored them. She is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Betty Walden Smith, her brother, Mike Vinson, and her sisters, Debbie Jo Kendall and Jeanette Searle.
Angie's funeral services will be held at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper, Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home, starting with visitation on December 7, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and continuing on December 8, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00, followed by a service at 2:00 p.m.. She will be laid to rest at Shipley Cemetery. Pastor Charles Cook will officiate.
Jacob Bouton, Matt Delker, Cody Grasty, Ashton Darrow, Derek Kimball and Fred Spicer will serve as pallbearers.
