Andrea Joan Dudney, affectionately known as Andrea to her friends and family, passed away at her residence in Cookeville on January 13, 2024, at the age of 74. Born on April 20, 1949, in Nashville, TN, Andrea was a beacon of love and intelligence throughout her life, touching the hearts of everyone she met.
Andrea was the oldest of 12 siblings, a role she cherished and embodied with grace and strength. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Dominic Catignani and Joan Marie Smith Catignani; her brother Andrew Catignani, Jr.; and her sons, Patrick Dudney, Jr., and Michael Dudney. Her legacy continues through her beloved husband of 32 years, Patrick Dudney, her daughter Lisa Dudney, her son Ricky Dudney (Anita), her adored grandchildren Nathaniel Stevens, Colen Stevens, Kayla Dudney, and Keisha Krotie, and her cherished great-grandchildren Reese Stevens, Aubriel Stevens, Addison Stevens, and Addie Dudney.
Andrea's brothers Toney Catignani, Richard Catignani, and Linus Catignani; her sisters Cathy Cotter (Tony), Connie Horton (Steve), Theresa Calvo, Rosemary Gray (Ken), Joanie Catignani, Tina O'Connor (Mike), Bridget Rogers, and Carol Hostettler (Jeff); along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, will fondly remember her nurturing spirit and her ability to bring joy and comfort to their lives.
A proud graduate of Aquinas Junior College in Nashville, Andrea earned her associate's degree before embarking on a fulfilling career. She first served at IKG Industries in Nashville and later moved to Cookeville where she continued her professional journey in Human Resources at Tutco. Andrea also dedicated her time and skills as an administrative assistant at the Cookeville Chamber of Commerce, where she was highly regarded for her contributions to the community.
Andrea was a devout member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Cookeville, where she actively participated and found great solace in her faith. Her commitment to her church and community was evident in her involvement and the relationships she built over the years.
A Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday January 22 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Fr. Siby John will officiate. Graveside service and interment will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. Lawrence Cemetery in Joelton, TN. Serving as pallbearers are Greg and Rick Catignani, Toney Horton, Kevin O'Connor, Nick Rogers, and Josh Hostettler. Honorary pallbearers are Gene Goff, Jack Anderson, Fred Carson, Mike Kramer, Lou Flexer, Rich Timmerman, and Jessie Romo.
Andrea's family will receive friends on Sunday from 5 - 7 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home with at Rosary beginning at 6 p.m.
In honor of Andrea's enduring commitment to helping others, memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Outreach or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, two causes that were close to her heart and reflective of her caring nature.
