Alvis "Buzz" Cleo Darty Jr.

Funeral Services for Alvis C. “Buzz” Darty Jr., age 42, of Cookeville, will be Thursday evening, April 9, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until time of the service. Mr. Darty passed away peacefully and surrounded by his loving family at his home Sunday afternoon, April 5, 2015. Alvis was born August 19, 1972 in Indianapolis, IN to A.C. Darty Sr. and Sandra Vaughn Beech Darty. “Buzz” enjoyed fishing but his greatest pleasure was cookouts with his friends and family where he was known as the “Grill Master”! He had been an employee of Freeman Tire Company for the last fifteen years. In addition to his parents, Alvis is survived by his loving wife Kelly; seven children; Ahjanay Darty and Mariah Darty, both of Nashville, Brooklyn Darty and Tyson Darty both of Cookeville, Aaron Darty of Sparta, and Austin and Jordan Williams, both of Cookeville. Mr. Darty is also survived by seven brothers and sisters; Angela Darty of IN. and Thelma Darty of CA, Dana Robinson, Bobby Hefflin, Frank Robinson, Jackie Robinson and Curtis Robinson. “Buzz” was grandpa to one beautiful granddaughter, Mya and he leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Bro. Rick Gilbert and Bro. Buddy Johnson will be conduction the services. A Celebration of Life (family and friend gathering) will be held at a later time according to Mr. Darty’s wishes with the location to be announced.
