Alvina "Babe" Wright

Funeral services for Mrs. Alvina (Babe) Rita Wright, age 97, of Clyde, NC and formerly of Cookeville, will be 1 p.m. Saturday, November 11 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Tosh officiating. Interment will follow at Smyrna Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Wright passed away Monday, November 6, 2017 at Homestead Hospice in Clyde, NC. She was born February 12, 1920 in St.Henry, OH to the late John D. and Mayme Tobe Schlosser. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Wright; sister, Lorene Dague; and three brothers, Edward, Wilmer, and Ralph Schlosser. Mrs. Wright was member of Bangham Heights Baptist Church. She was a retired clerk with the US Department of Agriculture in Cookeville with over 28 years of service. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, David and Debbie Wright of Quincy, FL; two daughters and son-in-law, Roberta Wright of Clyde, NC, Sharman and Arlis Jones of Lexington, KY; eleven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to Bangham Heights Baptist Church. Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
