Almer Williams Jr.

Funeral services for Mr. Almer Williams Jr., age 71, of Baxter, will be Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 11:00 am.in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, April 14, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home. Mr. Williams passed away Friday, April 11, 2014 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born April 6, 1943 in Putnam County TN to the late Almer Williams Sr. and Emma Nash Williams. Almer attended Trinity Assembly Church, loved his church family, was known for his woodcraft, and enjoyed working in his vegetable garden. He loved his family dearly and was known fondly as “Pa Almer” to his grandchildren. Mr. Williamsis survived by his wife, Kitty Lynn Burton Williams; three sons; Lewis (wife Hilari) Scott of Fresco TX, Terry (wife Ann) Scott and Mark (wife Kelly) Scott, both of Baxter. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; Levi, Lance Madelyn Kalee and Jennifer Scott, Kaitlyn McGourty and Destiny Williams. Almer was the youngest of thirteen children and is survived by one brother and one sister as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, Almer was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters. Pallbearers will be family and friends Bro. David Leftwich and Pastor Jim Moore will officiate the service.
