Allene Schmid

Funeral services for Mrs. Allene Jeanette Schmid, 85, of Cookeville, will be held Thursday, May 10 at 7 p.m. at West View Baptist Church. Rev. Jimmy Simpson and Rev. Chuck Branch will officiate. Private family interment will be at Crest Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Schmid"�s family will receive friends Thursday from 5pm until service time at the church. Mrs. Schmid died Tuesday morning, May 8, 2012 at NHC of Cookeville. She was born December, 13, 1926 in Hazard, KY to the late Auburn and Sarah Spurgeon Franks. Mrs. Schmid was a member of West View Baptist Church. She served with her husband, Rev. Eugene Schmid, in his pastoral ministry at several local churches and served faithfully in the children"�s ministry and music ministry. Mrs. Schmid was a Registered Nurse and previously worked at Plateau Mental Health in Cookeville and McFarland Specialty Hospital in Lebanon, Tennessee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, two brothers, Marcus and Lee Franks. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Rev. Eugene Schmid of Cookeville, (whom she married, December 5, 1947, in Jeffersonville, Indiana) a son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Vicky Schmid of Cookeville; a brother, Voit Glen Franks of Florida; two sisters and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Bruce Stewart of Connecticut, and Marsha Franks of Hazard, KY; a grandaughter, Angela Schmid, a step granddaughter, Ann Marie Richards; a goddaughter, Lori Strode; and three great grandchildren, Rowan Correll, Alexander and Luke Vinson; Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
