Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Virginia Masters, age 76 of Cookeville, will be held Tuesday November 24 at 1 p.m. at Stevens Street Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Frank officiating. Interment will follow in Shipley Cemetery. Mrs. Master's family will receive friends Monday from 5 - 8 p.m. at Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home and Tuesday from 11 a.m. until service time at the church. Mrs. Masters died Friday afternoon November 20, 2015 In Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born November 26, 1938 in Cookeville to the late Ridley Robert and Beatrice Eldridge Gaw. Mrs. Masters graduated from Cookeville Central High School and earned both her BS Degree and Master's Degree in Education from Tennessee Tech University. She was a retired Kindergarten Teacher at Park View Elementary School with over 20 years of service. She and her family are long-time members of Stevens Street Baptist Church. She was a loving wife and caregiver to her husband Bill. An adored mother, sister, and grandmother, she was devoted to her family and will be remembered for her love of flowers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Carlos and Harvey Gaw. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Billy "Bill" Darrell Masters (who she married February 22, 1957 in Ringgold, GA); daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Jack Massa of Sparta; son, Brett Darrell Masters of Cookeville; grandchildren, Jacob Corey (wife Stacey) Masters, and Kaitlea Taylor Masters, Jay, Angie, and Emma Grace Massa; great grandchildren, Andrew, Megan, and Tucker Jack Massa; all of Cookeville; and two sisters and brother-in-law, Lorene and Jim Holland of and Willene Gentry, both of Cookeville. Pallbearers will be Randy Masters, Marty Masters, Jere Michael Gentry, Jacob Corey Masters, Jackie Rector, Dennis Gaw, and Bob Robbins. Memorial contributions may be made to Stevens Street Baptist Church 327 W. Stevens Street Cookeville, TN 38501.
