Tom Odom

COOKEVILLE/CHATTANOOGA, TN--Funeral services for Mr. Thomas "Tom" Odom, age 77 of Cookeville, were held Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 1:00 pm (CST) in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Barry Odom officiated. His family received friends Tuesday from 11:00 AM (CST) until service time at the funeral home. In addition, a graveside service and interment with military honors were held Wednesday, February 24th at 12:30 p.m. (EST) in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. Tom died Friday morning, February 19, 2021 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born May 15, 1943 in Fort Benning, GA to the late Hubert and Janice Kreilick Odom. He was a graduate of North Georgia College and earned a master's degree from Illinois Benedictine College. Tom proudly served his country in the US Army and was a Vietnam War Veteran and was awarded The Bronze Star. His military service included tours in Okinawa and Germany. He was a longtime member of the Vietnam Veterans Chapter 402 in Chattanooga. Tom worked as a plant manager in various cities including Chicago, Hopkinsville, KY, Chattanooga and Sparta, TN at Thomas Industries. He and his wife Judy moved to Cookeville in 2008. Tom is survived by his wife of 54 years, Judy Stanley Odom; sons, Rich Odom of Nashville, Dave (Belinda) Odom of Cookeville; and Barry (Robin) Odom of Georgia; seven grandchildren; brother, Kenneth Odom of California; sister, Mikie of Georgia; and by his beloved dog, Molly.
