Tom Holman

Thomas ‘Tom’ Leonard Holman, 66, of Algood, TN Tom Holman, beloved father and grandfather, passed away at his home on Tuesday, August 24, 2021. He was born November 23, 1954 in Overton County, TN to Raymond Francis Holman and Geneva Mae (Pigg) Holman. He attended school in Putnam County. He served in the U.S. Army in the 1970s, obtaining the rank of Sergeant while serving honorably with the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. After his military service, he worked as a career autobody repairman and mechanic. He retired in 2016 to care for his ailing mother. He was preceded in death by his parents, second wife Linda Lee (Surface) Holman, and by his sister, Vivian Ann (Holman) Owen and husband David. He is survived directly by his daughter, Shelly Kaye (Holman) Simons, wife of Daniel Simons and their nine children: Nathanael, Joshua, Benjamin, Cora, Samuel, Zachary, Timothy, Gabriel, and Jonathan Simons. He is further survived by in-laws Wanda (Surface) Maddle and husband David; Frankie Surface and wife Betty; Yolanda (Surface) Coates and husband Brian. Funeral services with military honors for Tom Holman will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 11 AM at the Cookeville Chapel of the Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Fellowship Cemetery in Overton County. His family will receive friends Saturday from 9 AM until service time.
