Funeral services for Mrs. Sara Castleman Hurt, 99 of Cookeville, will be held Wednesday July 9, at 10 a.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Graveside services and interment will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Hendersonville Memory Gardens in Hendersonville, TN. Bro. David Eldridge and Jason Malham will officiate. Mrs. Hurt died Saturday afternoon July 5, 2014 in Bethesda Health Care Center. She was born November 13, 1914 in Donelson, TN to the late Walter and Margaret Boyd Castleman. Mrs. Hurt was a homemaker worked a number of years at Dupont in Old Hickory and the G C Murphy Company in Louisville, KY. She was a member of Samaria Church of Christ in Cookeville. She and her husband were former long-time members of Lakeview Church of Christ in Hendersonville where he served as an Elder. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Buford Hurt; brother, William Walter Castleman, JR; and four sisters, Louise Ball, Gladys Crawford, Mamie Parkerson, and Eleanor Dodson. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Jane (Carl) Hellman of Cookeville and Beverly (Ken) Wilt of Folsom LA; five grandchildren, Mike (Ann) Hellman, Mark (Mahlon) Hellman, Mickie (Jason) Malham, Amy (Erik) Prats, Jennifer (Andres) Pena; and nine great grandchildren, Nicholas Malham, Olivia Malham, Joseph Malham, Aaron Malham, Sara Hellman, Brinanna Hellman, Marlie Hellman, Manning Hellman, and Eli Prats. Mrs. Hurt's family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
