Funeral Services for Mary Ruth Brown Myers, 87 of Buffalo Valley will be held Tuesday, May 13 at 12 Noon at Pleasant Grove Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Robinson Ridge Cemetery. Mrs. Myers died Sunday morning, May 11, 2014 at Riverview Regional Medical Center in Carthage, Tn. She was born May 4, 1927 in Putnam County to the late Alvin Grundy and Ida Lou Elrod Brown. She was an assembler at the former boat factory in Gainesboro, a homemaker and Putnam County Rook Champion. She enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves on TV. She was the caretaker of Robinson Ridge Cemetery. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Methodist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an infant daughter and son, sisters : Sallie Rigdon Dennis, Pearlie Nichols, Velma Jared, Nell Cole, brothers: Norman, Marshall, Cordell"HULL", Willard and Shirley Brown. Survivors include husband of 65 years Hugh Myers (whom she married July 31, 1948); sons & daughters-in-law Wayne (Marlene) Myers of Shelbyville, Nelson (Sharon) Myers of Gainesboro, Kenneth "KENNY" (Tabitha) Myers of Ashland City, Dale "SQUEAKY" and (Gail) Myers of Baxter,grandchildren: Steven Myers, Brandon Myers, Nathan Myers, Chase Myers, Christie George, Whitney Maxwell, Celeste Kemp, Kim Myers, Ariane Myers, Carrie Myers, Darryl Janelle Myers, 13 great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends at Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home Monday from 4 to 8 P.M. and after 10 A.M. Tuesday at the church. Family will serve as pallbearers. Bro. Bill Cowan will officiate.
