Peggy Welch

Funeral services for Peggy Jean Welch, 79, of Huntsville, AL and formerly of Cookeville will be held Saturday, January 14 at 10 a.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. Dr. Randall Adkisson will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Welch died Sunday afternoon, January 8, 2012 in Huntsville. She was born May 21, 1932 in Putnam County, TN to the late Frank R. and Robbie Gertrude Hadley Coakley. Mrs. Welch was a member of Willowbrook Baptist Church in Huntsville. She was a graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse in ICU at Crestwood Hospital for over 30 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter Bahaca Court #90 Ladies Oriental Shrine for over 30 years. Mrs. Welch is survived by her husband, Lee V. "Sam"� Welch (whom she married December 12, 1951 in Cookeville), son, Greg Welch and a granddaughter, Lacey Leigh Welch all of Huntsville, AL. Pallbearers will be Jerald Welch, Curt Cooper, Keith Street, Ryan Burroughs and Tommy Mullis. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer"�s Association, PO Box 2827 Cookeville, TN, 38502.
