BAXTER-Funeral services for Peggy Ann Fisher, 84 of Silver Point, will be Tuesday, February 1 at 1 PM at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Bro. Frank Rodgers will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday from 4 to 8 PM and after 11 AM Tuesday until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Fisher died suddenly Friday, January 28, 2022 at her home. She was born March 27, 1937 in Silver Point to the late Earl and Prudie LaFever Helm. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, James Denton "JD" Fisher on July 13, 2006, a sister June Mayes, brother Herbert Glenn Helm. Peggy was a loving Christian woman who never met a stranger. She loved to share stories of her life growing up in Silver Point. She loved life and laughter. Peggy was a member of Mattie Smith Memorial Presbyterian Church for 71 years. She served as an elder for over 10 years and taught Sunday School for over 40 years. She was known for wearing her "Jesus" pin every day so that she could share with others how much Jesus blessed her. She loved her family and friends deeply. She was a great cook and was known for her salmon patties and fried apple pies. She loved going to and having her yearly yard sales. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law Steve and Debbie Fisher, daughter and son-in-law Deloris and Mark Fowler all of Cookeville , grandchildren: Stephanie Fisher of Cookeville, Cameron (Abby) Fowler of Chattanooga, great-grandchildren: Lexie, Livie and Kaydee Strickland, sister-in-law Faye Helm of Silver Point, special "grandson" Alan Strickland, special friends: Gail Tucker and Hilda Tucker Smith both of Silver Point and Ann Emerton of Baxter. Active Pallbearers will be Alan Strickland, Jimmy Smith, Mark Fowler, Cameron Fowler, Pat Palmer and Jimmy Fisher.
