Novella Qualls

Funeral services for Novella Jones Qualls, 95 of Algood will be held Friday, May 27 at 11 a.m. in the Algood Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Paran Cemetery in Overton County. Bro. Steve Thornton will officiate the services. Mrs. Qualls passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at her home. She was born October 8, 1915 in the Shady Grove Community of Putnam County, TN to the late Jimmy J. and Katherine Stamps Jones. Mrs. Qualls was a member of Shady Grove Freewill Baptist Church. She operated Qualls Grocery in Algood for 30 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cordell C. Qualls and two brothers, Herman Jones and Arnold Jones. Mrs. Qualls is survived by a daughter, Brilla Qualls Weilenman of Cookeville; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy C. and Loretta Qualls of Algood; two grandchildren, Mike Weilenman of Indiana; Tim and wife Dian Weilenman of Cookeville; four great grandchildren, Loyd, A.J. and wife Tara, Monica, Jacob Weilenman and three great great grandchildren, Tristen, Jaden and Tru, one nephew, Willard Jones of Pikeville; two nieces, Juanita Bowen of McMinnville and Lucille Matheney of Campaign, TN. The family will receive friends Thursday 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
