Funeral Arrangements for Mrs. Wilma Louise Maxwell, age 84, of Cookeville, will be Monday, October 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 11, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Judd Cemetery. Mrs. Maxwell was born February 8, 1931 in Putnam County TN to the late Charlie D. Thomas and Annie Hurd Thomas. She was one of ten children and loved her family. Wilma enjoyed walking for exercise, gardening and tending her flowers. She was known as a giving person and loved making cookies for everyone. Mrs. Maxwell had worked for Chrysler in years gone by, but was a loving mother and homemaker for many years. Survivors include two children; Linda (husband Jim) Allison and Tom Maxwell, both of Sparta, two sisters; Charleen Goff and Mary Ellen Lafever, both of Baxter, and one brother; Carlen Thomas also of Baxter. She is also survived by two grandchildren; Tim (wife Trevanda) Allison and Ed Allison, both of Sparta and two great-grandchildren; Macee Allison and Chance Howell. In addition to her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by three sisters; Nelline Wiley, Triva Luke, and Elmus Britt, as well as three brothers; King Thomas, Charles Thomas and J.V. Thomas. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Bro. Roger Cooper will be conducting the services.
