Misty Lagod

May 17, 1974 — December 30, 2023

Misty Dawn LaGod, known affectionately as Misty to her friends and loved ones, passed away at her residence in Rickman,Tennessee, on December 30, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on May 17, 1974, in Nashville, Tennessee, Misty's life was a testament to her unwavering faith, her love for her family, and her commitment to serving others.

Misty's academic prowess was evident early on as she became the Valedictorian of her 1992 graduating class at the Christian Academy in Charlotte, NC. Her intellectual achievements, however, were but a prelude to the profound impact she would have on the lives of those around her. She dedicated herself to the service of others by serving as a Missionary in Ukraine and Mexico, caring for abused women and children as part of Joy House and Open Door ministries in Denver, Colorado, joining the leadership team of the Restoration House of Prayer in Cookeville and becoming a member of the National Christian Counselors Association.

She was a living testament to the virtues she held dear, embodying the very essence of a Christian woman. Misty's life was a tapestry of care and encouragement, woven with threads of joy and compassion. She was a light of life in her sphere of influence. She reflected a faith-filled heart, and lived every day with a loving and humble spirit that drew people to her.

Misty is survived by her loving family, including her husband of 19 years, Paul LaGod; children, Grayson Kai and Arabella Sky; her mother, MJ and step-father, Steven Lusk; her brother, Kris Lusk and his wife Amanda; her niece, Marley Rose Lusk; her great uncle, Roy Patterson and his wife Brenda; her Aunt, Lola Hullett and her husband Steve; and numerous cousins and extended family members who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her son Jamison LaGod, her father, Danny Wayne Carlisle; paternal grandparents, Clay and Bessie Carlisle; aunts, Sue Thompson, Christine Peek, and Opal Pack; uncles, Dennis Peek, David Carlisle, and Keith Robinson; and maternal grandparents, Roy B. Patterson and Louise Patterson Cummings.
