Funeral services for Mildred Shanks McCoin, age 94, of Southgate, MI and formerly of Baxter, will be held Monday March 9 at 1:00 pm in the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Frank Rodgers will officiate. Interment will follow in the Smellage Cemetery. Her family will receive friends and family Monday from 10 a.m. until time of services. Mrs. McCoin passed away Wednesday March 4, 2020 in Wyandotte, MI. She was born November 12, 1925 in Jackson County, TN to the late Charlie Escoe Lee and Bessie Mai Ramsey Lee. Mrs. McCoin formerly worked in Oak Ridge, TN during the WWII war effort. She is survived by her daughter, Sherry (William "Kim") Terry of Allen Park, MI; grandchildren, Christopher (Lisa) Terry, Chuck (Tammy) Terry and Craig (Kelly) Terry; great grandchildren, Amber (Terry), Catherine, Michael, Kimberly, Kayla, Daniel, Thomas, Hailey, Cassidy (Michael), Cambell, Ashley (Ray), Heather, and Justin; great great grandchildren, Camryn, Andrea, Aaliyah, Logan, Darren, Billy, Lillian, Braedyn, Kyler, Alivia, Michael, and Bryce; and sister, Ruth Sue McConnell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, J. V. Harold Shanks and Joseph McCoin; siblings, Hugh (Ida Mae) Lee, Mary Jo (Frank) Hicks and Charles Lee.
