Funeral services for Mr. Kenneth Michael Carr, 67 of Columbia, TN will be held Sunday September 9 at 3 p.m. at Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Home, Baxter Chapel, with Dr./Chaplin Jim McAfee officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Smellage Memory Gardens. Mr. Carr died suddenly Wednesday September 5, 2012 in the Emergency Room of Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, TN. He was born August 17, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Kenneth V. and Susan Bernice Eagle Carr. Mr. Carr was a machine repairman with General Motors with over 31 years of service. Prior to General Motors, he worked for the Chrysler Corporation with 15 years of service. He was a long-time member of both the Eden Masonic Lodge #477 F&AM in Eden, IN and the Greenfield, In Masonic York Rites. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather who loved gardening and restoring old cars. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Phyllis Kniep Carr (whom he married November 5, 1958 in Indian0oplis, IN); son, Shane Carr of Madisonville, TN; two daughters and sons-in-law, Laurie & Jim Over of Greenfield, IN, and Tara & Jon McKinley of Columbia, TN; seven grandchildren, Madison, Jacob, and Amber Carr, Emma and Jayden McKinley, Logan and Lucas Over; sister, Linda Gunby of Gonzales, LA; and two brothers, Victor Carr of Fortville, IN and Ben (Mary Jo) Carr of Greenfield. Members of the Veterans Honor Guard will serve as pallbearers. Mr. Carr"�s family will receive friends Saturday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
