Mike Allen

A celebration of life service for Michael Edgar Allen, age 59 of Baxter, was held Sunday, March 14, 2021 at 3:00 pm in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. His family received friends Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Allen died Thursday March 11, 2021 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born October 31, 1961 in White Co., TN to the late William Edgar Allen and Lillian D. Bean Allen. Mike was a hard worker and worked in construction. He was friendly, outgoing and never met a stranger. He especially adored his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Allen; and by friend and father figure, OJ Loftis. Mike is survived by his wife of 38 years, Michelle Nabors Allen (whom he met in 1978 and married in 1981); daughter, Whitney (Andrew) Sparks of Cookeville; sons, Brandon (Danetta) Allen of Franklin, TN and Zach Allen of Cookeville; grandchildren, Joshua Underwood, Kylie Allen, Mary Katherine Sparks, Wayland Allen and Bhoden Allen; sisters, Anita (Jerry) Brown, Linda (Gary) Heady, Dean (Jacky) McBride, and Lisa (Barry) Crum; brothers, Billy (Annetta) Allen and Dewey (Joyce) Bean; and by special aunt, Willie Bean. Memorial contributions were asked to be made to the family to help with expenses. Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. (931)526-6111.
