Maudean Sparks

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Maudean Sparks, age 82, of Cookeville, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 3 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Clarence DeLoach and Bro. Jeremiah Tatum will officiate. Interment will follow in the Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 - 8 p.m and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until time of the service. Mrs. Sparks passed away Monday afternoon October 1, 2018 at Life Care Center of Sparta. She was born November 29, 1935 in Cookeville, TN to the late Andrew Horace and Cynthia Anne England Boatman. Mrs. Sparks was a member of Willow Avenue Church of Christ. She was retired secretary with the Putnam County Board of Education. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Owen Sparks, who she married June 12, 1955 in Cookeville; two sons, Chris (Sammie) Sparks, Larry (Teresa) Sparks all of Cookeville; sister, Roberta (Sped) Kastorff of Madison, AL; brother, Carl (Rhonda) Boatman of Laguna Beach, FL; three grandchildren, Andrew (Whitney) Sparks, Jake Sparks, Carley Sparks; and great-grandchild, Kylie Allen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Boatman. Elders and deacons of Willow Avenue Church of Christ will serve as pallbearers.
