Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ellen Robbins, 78 of Cookeville, will be held Thursday May 16 at 1 p.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Rev. Keith Tosh will officiate. Mrs. Robbins died Sunday morning May 12, 2013 in Bethesda Health Care Center. She was born March 21, 1935 in Overton County, Tennessee to the late William Eskew and Clara Sisco. In addition to being a homemaker she worked for a number of years at the former Acme Boot Company. She was well-known by family and friends for her beautiful crochet and embroidery work. She was a member of Bangham Heights Baptist church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Caldwell; brother, James Sisco; and three other infant siblings. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, James Robbins (whom she married July 3, 1954 in Rossville, GA); son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Karen Robbins; two daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa and Harold Morphew, and Teresa and Jesse Huddleston all of Cookeville; five grandchildren, Shawn (Ashley) Robbins, Andrew Thompson, Lesily Thompson, Brittany Thompson, and Jessica Spurlock; and two great grandchildren, Josh Spurlock and Delania Carr. Pallbearers will be Charlie Cobble, Jake Cobble, Mark Marshall, Josh Spurlock, Shawn Robbins, and Andrew Thompson. Mrs. Robbins family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Thursday from 11 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
