COOKEVILLE-Funeral services for Louise Brooks Stanton, 99, of Cookeville will be Saturday, August 18 at 1 PM from the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. Mrs. Stanton died Saturday, August 11, 2018 in Signature Healthcare-Putnam County in Algood. She was born April 5, 1919 in Jackson County, TN to the late Henry and Renie Lee Myers Brooks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ishmael Stanton who died August 20, 1985, 2 step-daughters Rachel Hawkins and Greta Williamson, granddaughter Wendy Goodwin, sisters Lillian Hogan, Maggie Jackson and Beulah Parris, brothers Hampton Lloyd Brooks and Edward Brooks. She was a retired associate with Tutco of Cookeville. She was a member of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church where she was one of the first Church Mothers. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends, caring for her and her husband's beagle hounds and fishing. Survivors include granddaughter Denise Williamson of Cleveland, Ohio, and a host of nieces and nephews. Rev. Richard Stone will deliver the eulogy assisted by Rev. Jonathan Young.
