Letha Willene Smith

Graveside Funeral Services for Mrs. Letha Willene Hyder Smith, age 88, of Dayton Ohio, will be Monday, July 9, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lee Family Cemetery in Putnam County TN. Mrs. Smith passed away on Friday, July 6, 2012 at her home in Dayton. She was born July 30, 1923 in Beckham County, Oklahoma to the late Joseph Decker Hyder and Angeline Lee-Hyder. Letha was of the Baptist faith and spent her life as a homemaker and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Letha is survived by three children; Doris Gibson of Dayton OH, Jerry (Helen) Smith of Cookeville and Michael (Cindy) Smith of Dayton. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Verlin Smith, two sons; Royce and Robert Smith, two brothers; Verlin Hyder and Joe Seldon Hyder, and four sisters; Betty, Ila, Marie, and Vola. She is also preceded in death by one great-grandson, Dillon. Bro. Jerry Smith will officiate the graveside services.
