Graveside services and interment, with military honors, for Mr. Lee Voyd "Sam"� Welch 84 of Huntsville, AL and formerly of Cookeville will be held Saturday June 9 at 11 a.m. at Cookeville City with Dr. Randall Adkisson officiating. Mr. Welch died Thursday evening May 31, 2012 in Kindred Transitional Care & Rehabilitation-Whitesburg Garden in Huntsville. He was born September 24, 1927 in Putnam County, Tennessee to the late Alfred W. and Fannie Ella Roberson Welch. He was of the Baptist Faith He retired as an Electrical Engineer with NASA in 1987; a US Navy Veteran; and held duel membership for over 50 years in Cookeville Masonic Lodge #266 and Solar Masonic Lodge #914 F&AM in Huntsville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Coakley Welch (who died January 8, 2012). Survivors include his son, Greg Welch; granddaughter, Lacey Leigh Welch both of Huntsville; two brothers, Reed Welch and James "Doc"� Welch both of Cookeville; four sisters, Christine Fleenor of Monterey, Emogene Garrett, Pauline Poteet, and Anna Ruth Burroughs all of Cookeville. Mr. Welch"�s family will receive friends Friday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home with Cookeville Masonic Lodge #266 F&AM conducting a Masonic Memorial Service at 7 p.m.
