Lawrence Whitaker

Funeral services for Mr. Lawrence Whitaker, 77 of Algood will be held Saturday March 10 at 1 p.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Head officiating. Interment will follow in Algood City Cemetery. Mr. Whitaker died Thursday afternoon March 8, 2012 in Masters Health Care Center. Mr. Whitaker was born November 19, 1934 in Putnam County, Tennessee to the late Mack and Arrie Whitaker. He was a retired associate with the former Norwalk Furniture Company in Cookeville and of the Baptist Faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dixie Whitaker; one sister, Eva Stewart; and five brothers, Herman Whitaker, James Whitaker, Sherman Whitaker, Ray Whitaker, and Clinton Whitaker. Survivors include his son, Chris Whitaker of Algood; two daughters, Brenda Whitaker of Algood and Faith Goad of Dayton, TN; five grandchildren, Jimmy Qualls, Bobby Whitaker, Andy Goad, Autumn Goad, and Abigail Goad; one sister, Letha Allen of Charleston, SC; one brother and sister-in-law, Gordon and Madge Whitaker of Dayton, OH. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Mr. Whitaker"�s family will receive friends Saturday, from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
