Funeral services for Landon Jackson, age 87 of Cookeville, will be held Thursday June 27th at 11:00 am in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Carl Sims and Bro. Mike Dyer will officiate. Interment will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. Jackson died Monday afternoon June 24, 2013 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born August 4, 1925 in Sparta, TN to the late Robert Howard and Hannah Sullivan Jackson. Mr. Jackson was a proud U.S.Navy Veteran serving in the South Pacific Theatre. He worked as an Auto Body Mechanic and was employed at the Cookeville Motor Company for 30 years and was also a co-owner of Lambs Body Shop for 10 years. He was a long-time member of the Willow Avenue Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Billie Bumbalough. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Marie Pippin Jackson (whom he married August l5, 1946 in Roosville, GA); daughter Barbara (Buddy) Littrell of Clarksville; son, Lester (Nancy) Jackson of Knoxville; three grandchildren, Adam Landon (Ashley) Jackson of Knoxville, Darin (Mary) Littrell of Goodlettsville, and Macy (Randy) Dufresne of Nashville; two great-grandchildren, Ashley and Timothy Littrell; and by a sister, Georgia Kosty of Michigan. Darin Littrell, Adam Jackson, Randy Dufresne, Charles Pippin, Herman Pippin and Jimmie Way will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and again on Thursday from 9am until service time at the funeral home.
