BAXTER-Funeral services for Kimberly "Kim" Carol Mathis, 51 of Baxter, were held Thursday, January 28 at 11 AM at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Thurman Mathis Family Cemetery. The family received friends Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM and after 9 AM Thursday at the funeral home. Bro. Fabron Nicholson and Bro. Leo Bilbrey officiated. Due to COVID-19, social distancing guidelines were observed. Kim died Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at her home. She was born August 6, 1969 in Cookeville to the late Edwin Dwight Goff, Sr. and Carolyn Faye Huff Goff. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law Jerry Mathis. She was a 1987 graduate of Upperman High School in Baxter. She was a homemaker. Kim enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include husband of 27 years (Married January 28, 1993) Scottie Mathis of Baxter, sons Dusty Ray (Danika) Mathis, Harley (Miranda) Mathis all of Baxter, sister Justina Marie (Bryan) Potter of Cookeville, brother Dwight, Jr. (Donna) Goff of Sparta, grandchildren: Ava Sherfield and Harlie Mathis, sisters and brothers-in-law: Angela (Stephen) Hull of Monterey, Jason (Amber) Mathis of Kentucky, several nieces and nephews. Family and friends served as pallbearers. Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements (931)858-2134.
