Funeral services for Kenneth Dwayne Jackson, 64, of Cookeville, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 2014, from the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. Kenneth's family will receive friends Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Mr. Jackson passed away on Monday morning, September 15, 2014 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center Hospital. He was born on May 5, 1950 in Cookeville, to the late Rev. Leroy and Maggie Jackson. Mr. Jackson was a retired carpenter in construction; he was honorably discharged from the U.S. Armed Forces; and was a member of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, where his father was founder and pastor for more than 45 years. Survivors include one son and a daughter-in-law, Kenneth Dwayne Jr and Claudine Jackson of Atlanta, GA and one daughter, Dionna Jackson and fiancé, Edward Pena of Lawrenceville, GA. Three sisters and a brother in-law, Eleene Okorji of Indianapolis, IN, Elouise Jackson, and Juanita and Richard Stone all of Cookeville. Two brothers and a sister-in-law, John Jackson, and Paul and Hettie Jackson, all of Cookeville; sister in-law, Lorraine Jackson of Cookeville; three grandchildren, Alexus, Amarri, and Akalah; and other relatives, and a host of friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Franklin Leroy Jackson; a sister in-law, Shirley Jackson (wife of John), both of Cookeville. Pallbearers will be Gary Gardenhire, SR, Gary Goolsby, Floyd Cartwright, Reaker Bass, Steve Mullins, Charlie Wester, SR, and Anthony Earls. Family and friends will serve as Floral Bearers. Rev. Earl Dirkson, Pastor of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, will officiate at the services.
