Graveside services and interment for Katherine Haynes, 81, of Cookeville, will be Monday, April 17 at 10 AM at Algood City Cemetery. Her son, Chaplain Philip Smith will officiate. Mrs. Haynes passed away Friday, April 14, 2017 at her home. She was born July 3, 1935 in Overton County to the late Jess Franklin "Frank" and Edith Bilbrey Adkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband W.R. "Bill" Haynes, sister Mary Freeman and a brother Tommy Adkins. She was a retired Administrative Assistant with Cookeville Senior Day Care. She was a graduate of Algood High School and attended Tennessee Polytechnic Institute, now Tennessee Tech. She was a member of Christ Community Church. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law Randy A. and Dorothy Smith of Algood and Philip and Debbie Smith of Arabi, Louisiana, sister Dean Ham of Cookeville, grandchildren: Kalonie (Clint) Williams of Krimmling, Colorado, Ethan Smith of Richmond, VA, Andrea (Jeremy) Redd of Thaxton, Mississippi, great-grandchildren: Ashton, Landon and Hunter Williams, Clayton and Piper Redd.
