Karen Sue Sliger

Funeral Services for Ms. Karen Sue Sliger age 62, of Cookeville will be Tuesday, January 14th. at 2:00p.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Tuesday from noon until time of service. Burial will be in the Stewart Cemetery. Karen departed from this life Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born February 12, 1951 in Cookeville to the late Thomas Lester Sliger and Evelyn Winona Osborne Sliger. Karen was a TTU graduate where she received her bachelor’s and her master’s degree. She retired in 2013 from Gordonsville High School where she was a teacher. She was a caring, loving and compassionate lady. Karen loved to travel and enjoyed the beauty of nature. Her time was treasured overlooking the mountains of Gatlinburg. Ms. Sliger is survived her sister, Edith (husband Hank) Duvier; nephews, John Malcom and Travis Lee Duvier all of Cookeville. Karen leaves behind a host of friends and relations. Karen was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. Bro. Jackie Wheeler will officiate
