John Massa

Memorial Services for John McCluen Massa, 60 of Cookeville will be Tuesday, April 10 at 1 P.M. from the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Palk officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Massa died Saturday morning April 7, 2012 at his home. Mr. Massa was born December 9, 1951 in Putnam County to the late Clifford Thurman and Dee Bowman Massa. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was President/Owner of John E. McCluen Company of Cookeville. He was a licensed private pilot and loved flying planes. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by step-son Phillip LaCommare. Survivors include wife Marlene Hunter Massa(whom he married November 21, 1998 in Putnam County); two daughters Melissa & husband Will Honeycutt of Thompson Station, TN, Jenelle Anderson and Fiance Mitch Harrington of Cookeville, step-daughter Mara Palk Johnson of Cookeville; eight grandchildren, Mia Martinez, Alex and Ashlyn Honeycutt, Taylor and Trace Anderson, Alexandria and Piper LaCommare, and Sya Johnson; two sisters Bonnie Massa of Chicago, Julie & husband Jack Dodson of Broken Arrow, OK., brother, Cliff Massa III of McLean, VA. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Cancer Care Fund at Cookeville Medical Center Foundation 1 Medical Center Blvd, Cookeville, TN 38501 or to Caris Hospice 2525 Hwy 111 North Suite B Algood, TN. Family will receive friends at Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home Monday from 5 to 8 P.M. and Tuesday from 10 am until service time.
