A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Joseph Marion Zawadzki, age 74 of Cookeville and formerly of Chicago, IL were held Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Father Christiano Nunez officiated. Interment followed in West Chapel Cemetery in the Fairview community. His family received friends Tuesday morning, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Mr. Zawadzki died Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born October 12, 1946 in Hahn, Germany to Walter Zawadzki and Emelia Kruczek Zawadzki. Joe worked as a master mechanic with General Motors for 35 years. He was a car enthusiast and spending time restoring and rebuilding his favorite models. He also enjoyed drag strip racing. Joe had a sharp wit and possessed a wonderful sense of humor. He was laid back, kind and saw the best in others. He was devoted to his family and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Mr. Zawadzki is survived by his wife of 48 years, Dolores Joan Arena Zawadzki; son, Joseph Michael (Tania) Zawadzki; daughter, Alice Louise (Robert) Spike; grandchildren, Brandon, Kyle, Robert and Anthony, Victoria, Rebecca, Josephine and Nevaeh; and great grandchildren, Aliza, Olivia James, Riley, Blaise and Sterling.
